National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for MBBS/BDS

National Eligibility Entrance Examination (NEET) is an All India Level Common Entrance Examination for Undergraduate and Post-Graduate Medicine aspirants. NEET UG 2013 is on 5 May 2013(Sunday).

  • National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Under Graduates (NEET-UG)
NEET-UG is the Common Entrance Test for MBBS Admissions. NEET-UG is applicable for Dental also.
  • National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Post Graduates (NEET-PG)
  • National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Super Specialties (NEET-SS)
 MCI (Medical Council of India),conduct  the examination and it will prepare the national and state merit lists as well.

MCI is a statutory body which regulates medical colleges, affiliation, new colleges etc. It maintains standards of medical education and recognizes medical qualification besides registering doctors to practice in India.

After your 12th,if you are planning to do MBBS,you can write NEET.Because it is like a second chance.If your cut off marks get lower,you need not forget your dream of studying MBBS.Try NEET,three attempts are also allowed. Of course Eligibility criteria IS THERE.

•  Online Conduction of Examinations (from 2013)
A students can go for a maximum of three attempts.


Eligibility criterion for appearing NEET-UG
The aspirant must have passed 12th class examination, with a minimum of 50% (General category) and 40% (Reserved category) in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized board before admission.
Minimum 17 years at the time of taking admission and the upper age limit is relaxed by five years for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
